Building update....
This week was a productive one at the new home site. All the underfloor stuff (plumbing, electrical and heat/air) was put in place. Looks like we'll get a floor slab next week sometime. Once the slab is in, then it's just a waiting game until the Amish men from Ohio come to frame it. They will get done in 2 weeks what a local framer would have taken 2 months to do. The craftsmanship will be 100 times better too! I plan to take lots of pictures throughout their 2 weeks work. The pond is coming along as well. We ran into an old well head and had to do a bit of checking around to make sure that it is safe to put a pond over it. The state inspector said it was capped off in 1951- but luckily is was capped properly. Bobby still didn't feel good about putting the pond on top of it so it will be part of a peninsula- covered with dirt and plantings and stuff. After the pond is filled with water and sits for a year or better we'll be able to stock it. Maybe then the boys will actually be able to catch a fish when they go fishing! Work is scheduled through the Labor Day weekend... guess that's why it's called "Labor Day?"
