The boys had another belt promotion this month. They went from purple to half-purple/half-blue. Their next belt will be blue. They are having a lot of fun (and getting TONS of exercise) with martial arts. They both have set goals to get their black belt and if they keep progressing- that should happen about the time Grant is 13-14 years old. I don't know if I'm ready for 2 black belts living in my house! With all the rowdy play that goes on now I can't imagine what it'll be like when they are sparring with each other in the living room. As part of their testing they had to get in the ring with their sensei- Mr. Epps. It was a "no holds barred" type of round- to see how well they have mastered their personal protection techniques. It made me a wreck seeing that big guy pushing my babies down! As soon as they got back on their feet, he'd knock them down again. And hit them!!! I don't know who was more scared- my kids or ME! Bobby told me I was going to have to get a grip because it's only going to get more aggressive from here on out. We all three survived and the boys received their belt so I guess that's what matters. Next time I think I might miss that portion of the test.
