Our homeschool group held it's annual geography fair on Friday. We represented the Cayman Islands (imagine that!). There were over 30 countries represented and the kids had "passports" which were stamped as they visited each country. The idea was for them to learn something (obviously) at each country- (location, culture, climate, etc) and sample a some ethnic cuisine. After they'd received a stamp from each country, they got a prize. On the way home I asked the boys if they learned anything interesting. Clark says, "Yeah- the soda in Brazil rocks!" I'm thinking that means that the food sampling was the most important part of the whole geography fair experience??? If asked where Brazil is located I'd most likely get a blank stare.
