Once you have 5 cats, what's one more? We were coming home from the house in Arcadia this weekend and stopped to get gas at the little hole-in-the-wall station along the way. This little kitten came up to Bobby and "looked up at him with the sweetest little eyes" (his words) so he scooped her up and went inside to ask the cashier Cricket- whom we have come to love- who owned the kitten. Let me describe Cricket: she's about 5 ft tall- MAYBE 90 pounds and a chain smoking country gal. She is somewhere between 45 and 70- (I can never tell with those women who have worked hard and played harder!) Cricket LOVES Bobby- as they have a mutually harassing relationship with one another. She got all excited and said, "Are you gonna take that kitty home? I was gonna take her home if no one claimed her by the end of my shift." He said, well- if she doesn't belong to anyone I guess I'll have to take her with me. Sooooooo, the man who absolutely refused to let Clark ask Santa for a new kitten brings home a stray. He's getting to be such a softie! He's even named her Tina Fey- his TV star crush. She is a sweet cat- the first cat we've ever owned who is a genuine lap kitty. We love her. Timmi and Lucy aren't big fans, but they'll have to get used to her. I've got an appointment to take her to the vet today for shots and to schedule getting her spayed. Clark is really lobbying to NOT get her spayed so she can have kittens. He would have a house full of cats if given the chance. So the official tally is 4 cats inside and 2 outside. My theory is that when we move into the bigger house- it won't SEEM like there are so many cats around. Shoot- maybe we'll even add a puppy or two to the mix. What the heck? If you're going to go nuts- you might as well go all the way!!!
